Fondazione Corti - Northern Uganda, 2025
The project is aimed at pediatric patients at Lacor Hospital in Northern Uganda. In Northern Uganda, 84% of children live in conditions of multidimensional poverty. Diseases such as malaria, pneumonia, anemia, and malnutrition put the lives of young children at risk every day.
Lacor Hospital represents a real hope for them: every year, over 7,000 children are admitted to the pediatric ward (an average of about 600 admissions per month), which has 112 beds divided into specialized areas (oncology, nutrition, neonatology, and emergency care).
This project will enable the treatment of children requiring specialized care, particularly for malaria, which remains the leading cause of death among children under 5 and the second leading cause of admission to Lacor’s pediatric ward, with over 1,900 cases per year.
